Stone and Glass
Winchester Cathedral stands so grand,
a symbol of faith, a sacred space,
built by man in some great plan.
Stone and glass give testament to man’s
efforts to understand the godly grace,
Winchester Cathedral stands so grand.
But made for God? Or made for man?
In time and space too vast to trace,
built by man in some great plan.
Can we detect a guiding hand?
Or merely just a grand facade,
Winchester Cathedral stands so grand.
Within its halls, the assembly stands.
Their vaulted ambitions thus displayed
With history etched in every strand,
And though what’s sought is not at hand,
a certain comfort falls within its space,
Winchester Cathedral stands so grand,
Was it build for God or Man?
